New Poster For Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?

Posted Sep 10th 2007 4:51PM by Wilson Morales
Filed under: It's All Reel

In just about a month from now, 'Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?' will hit theaters on Oct.12 and buzz is already growing strong. We haven't seen Janet Jackson in a 'big' role since she John Singleton's 'Poetic Justice' years ago, so a film like this could reignite her film career. As for Jill Scott, does she have the chops to make it in the business? Either way, folks are looking forward to this. Here's a look at the latest poster for the film.

Cast includes Tyler Perry, Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott, Sharon Leal, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Denise Boutte, and Lamann Rucker.

A big-screen adaptation of Perry's hit stage play of the same title, "Why Did I Get Married?" is an intimate story about the difficulty of maintaining a solid love relationship in modern times. During a trip to the picturesque snowcapped mountains of Colorado, eight married college friends have gathered for their annual seven-day reunion. But the cozy mood is shattered when the group comes face-to-face with one pair's infidelity. As secrets are revealed, each couple begins questioning the validity of their own marriage. Over the course of the weekend, husbands and wives take a hard look at their lives, wrestling with issues of commitment, betrayal and forgiveness as they seek a way forward.

1. i really hope it's better than his sitcom "House of Payne" because it is STRAIGHT TRASH! We all know Janet wasn't much of an actor...but hey, she still looks good in spite of her taste in "men." lol check me out at http://www.myspace.com/thesandmanno1

5. I saw his play that has the same title. It was very good, he may be able to do some things different since this is film. He did a great job with "Daddy's Little Girls" I thought he'd have it looking like a bootleg play but he didn't. He's getting better and better. I'm very proud of Tyler he even got some big named actors this time around, so i think it's gonna be good.

9. I think it will be a really good movie, but I cannot understand why people think Janet is some great award winning caliber actress. She hasn't shown any emotion in anything she's played in since Good Times, and even then she bordered on annoying. I'm not hating..I'm just saying.

10. I love Tyler Perry when he first hit the world with his well deserving TALENT!!! Stop hating on a brother and give him props for his mind, compassion and beautiful spirit. He has come a long way and made it give Tyler credit for never giving up and sticking to a dream GOD gave him the strentgh to hold on to and make it happen. WORK WELL DONE MY BROTHER!!! Keep doing what your doing come out with more plays and movies please... I Love You and your work... A true fan that appreciates you and your work... May God continue to bless you.

11. Stop hating on Janet i bet u was dancing to Control and i bet u want to see what she has to offer in the film my goodness we should be proud to see another black film make on to the big screen not tear someone down.

Tim at 3:10PM on Sep 12th 2007

12. I STILL groove to Control, but that has nothing to do with her acting. How come any time someone has an opinion that's not butt kissing, it's called hating? I'm not tearing her down, I'm just stating my opinion. She's not the worst actress, but I just don't think she's that great.

Boo at 11:51PM on Sep 12th 2007

13. Yes, I have seen most of Tyler Perry movies or plays....I like the movie Daddy's little girls" the best. I hope that is going to be a part2 to this movie...Keep on keeping on, Tyler....God bless you and your family.
