MAIA CAMPBELL: Lost & Found???

Maia Campbell.Call off the A.P.B.!!!

Maia Campbell has been found.

I think.

The Missing In Action actress has reportedly surfaced in Los Angeles, reports 'Philadelphia Daily News.'

Last month, stories spread like wildfire about the former 'In The House' star and daughter of late best-selling novelist Bebe Moore Campbell skipping town after a Philadelphia-area man filed a police report alleging that she stole his Jeep.

There was also a report that the 30-year-old beauty was present during a recent police sweep of a drug house on the 6300 block of Chew Avenue.

"[She] still manages to keep her nails and feet done and is still very pretty," a West Coast source told the newspaper. "She really needs to go to rehab based off what I saw with my own eyes."

'The News' also noted that Campbell hasn't returned multiple messages left on her cell phone in recent weeks.

Campbell, who also appeared in music videos for Tyrese and Lil' Kim, is believed to be the subject of her mother's last book '72 Hour Hold,' which deals with mentall illness.

In an interview with AOL Black Voices, one of her last, the NAACP Image Award winning author commented, "watching my loved one become violent and an incoherent stranger certainly tested my faith. My very close family member has bipolar disorder, which is a mood disorder - a disease of the brain."

Last year, Campbell became fodder for internet chatroom and black gossip blogs when an alleged videoclip of her naked and singing surfaced.

The "alleged" videoclip is below.

1. Unfortunately, in this day and age, most of us have a loved one, be it a family member or friend who suffers from some type of drug abuse or mental illness...personally, I'm familiar w/the heartaches of both...my heart is heavy and goes out to this beautiful young lady w/whom the spirit of confusion and deception see to have rested upon her...I'll include her in my prayers that one day she will be well and healthy in every aspect.

2. Smoe of the many people she worked with should attempt some support to help her .Someone should try to save this this beautiful Black Sister. It is a shame but drugs don't discriminate . I will keep her in my prayers as well, as she was a joy to watch on the show( In the House) and it is such a heartbreak to see this video....

3. Well,I don't see her doing anything besides singing partially nude or in the nude.I can't hear the music.I will check it out later when I'm home.

Topic of nudity.
So,she's singing nude. These days that's not so far from normal. She not harming anyone. The fact it was taped and place on the net.I would assume she didn't mind.Maybe she wanted some attention.

Mental Disorder.
If there's a mental disorder.I will pray for her. She's a beautiful flower and I hope she's surrounded by people that truly cares about her.

4. Maia Campbell is in bad shape right now like alot of people nowadays. Where's the family and friends? It's always the same scenario when the money leaves so does the people. Where's Al Sharpton, Russell Simmons, Oprah,to help this girl. They're usually the people that steps up to help(self-help that is, in promoting something). Somebody has to save this beautiful girl, it would really deeply hurt me, to see another person in the spotlight just self-destruct before our eyes and everybody just sit there and watch. That person that posted the video on the web is just pure evil, instead of exploiting her they could have helped her to a rehab or contacted her family to come get her or even the police just someone to save her.

5. I think she went into a deeper spiral after her Mom passed away, I am not sure what their relationship was, but that can take a toll on anyone.

I hope a pray she gets the help she so desparately needs. If people would stop concentrating on the Paris Hilton's, Lindsey Lohan's and Nicole Ritche's of this world, and focus on things that are REALLY important such has treatment for our mentally ill, then she will get better. But also, she has to want to help herself... when she is ready to come out... she will seek help until then all we can do is pray for her.

6. Thank god they found here alive. I thought I would log on the computer one day and read she is dead. Maia if you read this I want you to know you have alot of love and support from people that don't even know you. I have faith you will pull it together and I will pray for you sister.

7. Don't assume anything or point fingers one way or the other. Just keep her in your prayers and ask God to keep His hand upon her. Unless you are in her life and know her personally, we don't know how true the things are that we read/hear/ or see in the media.

leslie at 11:27PM on Jun 7th 2007

8. I agree with a few of the comments here. I especially agree with the fact that the world is sitting by watching her waste away. After viewing the video (which was very sad to watch) I personally refuse to click on another link regarding Maia Campbell. Her illness and/or crack addiction is being exploited for entertainment purposes (so it seems) and I will be no part of that. She is being put in the spotlight for a reason. Everybody's trying time is not exclusively for them. Sometimes GOD is trying to show you something as well. So...watch HIM turn her life around or sit and watch what happens when you (those who come in contact with her) don't help someone who is screaming for help. Either way...keep watching.

9. Maia is mentally ill, bipolar, a very difficult illness to aid when the patient is non-compliant. Obviously, she is not taking medication. Before her mother died, she lamented about not being able to help Maia. Bipolar disorder is so destructive because of what is does to your brain, and the great "high" the individual experiences during mania. They just won't substitute the high of the mania for medication. Pray, that's all we can do.

10. I agree that someone should step in and help her. For i am not bi-polar I am however depressed and have to done drugs to get over my problems and issues. I wondered if that who her mother was talking about in the book that she wrote before she died.
I hope she gets the help she needs. But first she has to recognize that she has a problem. And second she has to want help. A person can't be forced or talked into something about themselves or a situation that they don't want to change.

Tammy Murphy at 4:28PM on Jun 9th 2007

11. I pray and hope that someone gets ahold of her and puts in a treatment facility and makes her stay there.
Not the 30 day type, but the long-term care out in the country somewhere so that she can get her head clear.
Her family needs to take over and stop letting her drift.

rastablue at 7:56AM on Jun 11th 2007

12. YES HELP HER SOMEONE. BUT DONT STOP THERE, CONTINUE TO HELP THE OTHER 1 MILLION & 1/2 SOULS OUT THERE IN THE STREETS SUFFERING FROM THE SAME AILMENTS. BLACK PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS PRAYING AND TALKING RELIGION. THAT IS THEIR WORST PROBLEM, RELIGION. GOD HELP THOSE THAT HELP THEMSELVES. HOW MANY OF YOU PEOPLE WILL SIT AT THE TABLE WAITING AND PRAYING FOR THE LORD TO FIT YOUR A PLATE OF COLLARD GREENS? MORE THAN LIKELY YOU WILL GET UP AND FIX A PLATE YOURSELF RIGHT? FUNNY THING, YALL NEGROS WONT LET YOURSELF GO HUNGRY, BUT YALL PRAY HOPING GOD WILL TAKE COUSIN POOKIE OFF CRACK OR GIVE BIG MOMMA A CURE FOR DIABETES. DO FOR SELF. DO FOR SELF. DO FOR SELF!!!!!

Imus at 8:17AM on Jun 11th 2007

13. I feel sorry for her.... I Have depressive bipolar disorder, it hard to stay "Normal" if anyone is... Many people with BP often self-treat them selves by drinking and doing drugs.. (or in my case sex..) I do hope she gets help. she needs to be in an hosp. till she is stable on her meds.

Gracie at 8:36AM on Jun 11th 2007

14. I feel that we all should help each other during times like this. This young woman need our help and its up to us as well as the celebrity community to be there for her. I know that GOD is whispering in her ear that this is all temporary.

James at 9:03AM on Jun 11th 2007

15. I can't believe someone would videotape her when she's so vulnerable. That is just unhuman. This young lady obviously needs someone to help her. The video is so sad to watch!!!
