SHAR JACKSON: A Little Nip/Tuck

Posted Apr 9th 2007 7:07PM by Karu F. Daniels

Actress Shar Jackson revealed to a tabloid that she underwent plastic surgery in January 2007.Shar Jackson sure knows how to stay in the media.

The former 'Moesha' star -- now best known as Britney Spears' baby's daddy babies' mother -- is now a part of a growing list of black celebrity notables who have gone under the knife.

"I feel sexy and amazing," Jackson told the April 16 edition of 'In Touch Weekly' about her recent plastic surgery. "I'm looking forward to wearing two-piece swimsuits this year. The last time I wore a bikini was when I was 16."

The 30-year-old mother of four opened up to the popular tabloid about having being scarred by stretch marks from her numerous pregnancies. "I tried everything, but nothing got rid of stretch marks," she confided.

On January 26, she underwent a tummy tuck and breast lift, performed by Hollywood based specialists Dr. Michael Niccole and Dr. Ghada Y. Afifi.

(l-r) Shar Jackson during her 'Moesha' heyday and a recent candid shot of her."The amazing thing about the surgery is the short recovery time," Niccole told 'In Touch.' "Within four weeks, she was feeling great again."

Jackson, who reportedly started acting at age 11, has appeared in sitcoms such as 'ROC,' 'Hanging with Mr. Cooper,' and 'The Steve Harvey Show.' In 1996, she joined the cast of the hit UPN sitcom 'Moesha,' playing the role of Niecy Jackson, the title character's best friend.

Although well regarded as a favorite among black TV viewers, Jackson has most recently become tabloid fodder.

Two of her four children were fathered by Kevin Federline -- back-up dancer turned Britney Spears lover/husband/ex-husband and C-list media personality. With no movie or TV projects in the works, she has done a barrage of publicity revolving around their tumultuous and very short-lived affair and marriage.

46. WHO CARES WHAT SHAR DOES!!! IT'S HER CHOICE.THERE ARE OTHER SUBJECTS TO GET RILED UP ABOUT.

DEE at 7:29AM on Apr 12th 2007

47. She looks good for her age and if thats what she felt she needed to do, so be it. You go girl. What does it matter what the world thinks about her going under the knife, we don't know her and she probably doesn't give a damn what alot of you haters think.

tgodfrey at 7:40AM on Apr 12th 2007

48. Their's nothing wrong with her having plastic surgery to remove her stretch marks or having a breast lift. We are living in the 20th century. I also don't think she wants Kevin Ferderline back who would? She's moving on with her life and getting her self together inside and out. I APPLAUD YOU GIRL do your thing. Never mind the haters their doing their job so you do yours!

Michelle at 7:48AM on Apr 12th 2007

49. If she gets back with K-fed she has no self respect. Why would she get back with a man who PUBLICLY embarassed and disrespected her by leaving her for the dirty trailer trash? Even worse that he did that while she was pregnant with HIS child. She can do bad all by herself. She doesn't need that gold digging leach. If she wants to get minor plastic surgery to make herself feel better and sexier, that's her business, not America's.

50. i wish shar the best of luck. i am a mother of 4 and if i had the money i would do the exact same thing. i say if it makes you happy go for it. you only live once. i could see if she was doing this to please a man than i may think differently. but because she is doing it for herself i say more power to her.

51. u know i read stuff like this and it saddens me . i mean if blk women are thinking like this in this day and time , how are they gonna be thinking in say 10 yrs. me as a blk woman i have alot of things against me already and to read she went and had plastic surgery makes me know how we think of ourselves. well the media makes us feel somewhat like noone wants us not even the blk man. then we got stupid radio hosts making comments about us being "nappy headed hoes". im so glad he got fired . im the same age as shar and i dont know where she lost her way. but when i was coming up my grandmother told me that white women were gonna be spending thousands ouf dollars for what u got. i remember her saying that. i love me regardless of what anyone says i love waking up and seeing my face in the mirror. god didnt create no junk when he made me . shar maybe dating that white guy has made u lose ur way. u need to take some of that money and go and see a shrink . learn to love urself again . strech marks are a badge of a real woman dear.

52. Comment to #10: Onemadb*&%h, why are you hating on this woman, you are no better than Imus, only thing is he's white, Why must we be put down by our own people. You talking about get a job, evidently if she can afford the top cosmetic doctors, than she must have money somewhere. Why does she have to be a whore, she was married to K-Fed when she had those children and she is not the only black women who has bought colored contacts, even the poorer females who want to keep up with fashion. I betch you have some type of weave in your head, is anyone hating on you for that!!!!!!!

53. another thing, we holler when black women turn to white men, but what about all our high profile black men, who as soon as they make it, they turn to a white woman, so our black women have to do. Look at Halle, who could be more beautiful than her, she has had both black and white and still is not happy. So this let's you know happiness comes from within, regardless to have beautiful and rich you are. Love yourself for who you are. If God wanted us all thin, he would have done that!!!

sweeta at 10:40AM on Apr 12th 2007

54. that comment from #10 should not have been shown. that was uncalled for. remember what's going on today regarding imus comments?

brenda souls at 11:09AM on Apr 12th 2007

55. I think shar had her own personal reasons for having plastic surgery and frankly that's the only one that counts. We all talk about bettering ourselves; okay, then let's start by not dissing our black people in the media or otherwise. No one woman can say that her kids father is perfect. K-fed may be a leech but the girl loves the man. ENOUGH SAID.

56. Be nice and lighten up you guys, it is only a blog designed to comment on the issue.

Sahara at 12:43PM on Apr 12th 2007

57. #53 you are right that there is no reason to call her a whore but she and K-Fed were never married.

Sahara at 12:43PM on Apr 12th 2007

58. I hate it when I see black people with color contacts period! And for the most part it doesn't even look right when a black person has freakin' blue or green contacts!! It is not a good blend, and it looks too fake. A HOT MESS!

Sophia at 1:12PM on Apr 12th 2007

59. BTW... Getting rid of the stretch marks was a good idea, especially if it had her feeling uncomfortable about herself.

Sophia at 1:19PM on Apr 12th 2007

60. I saw Shar on Entertainment tonight they showed her prior to surgery and she really needed a tummy tuck lots of excess fat, flab from having the babies and breasts were extremly saggy so if you would have seen shar before you would totally agree!! I see why she uner went plastic surgery she needed it.
