Floyd Mayweather Grabbing the Mic? Yes, He’s Rappin’

It’s no secret that boxer ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd Mayweather has been trying to launch a record label, Philthy Rich Records, for some time now. But since it’s been slow-going, he might feel like he has to grab the mike himself --- like Pacman and try to bring success to his venture. But so far, it’s not looking so cool.

A recent video called 'Yep' was uploaded to YouTube that apparently features “Money Mayweather” rappin’ some really sorry rhymes over a trendy played-out beat. The video features footage of him frolicking with babes in thongs by a pool and yes there’s champagne, jewelry, cash being flashed, you know, the basic stereotypes for your run-of-the-mill rap video.

The thing is, when we visited Mayweather’s Philthy Rich Records web site , he wasn’t listed as an artist. And it looks like there are no plans for him to actually release a full album. Could it be possible that we will be spared from a “Money Mayweather” album? Let’s hope so!

Reggie Bush Becomes a Reporter for Sirius

As the start of the NFL season nears, everyone is getting into their positions. For Reggie Bush however, that position not only includes the field, but behind the mike as well. Bush has signed on with Sirius radio NFL channel to give first-person commentary every Wednesday on his second NFL season as well as will recap games, break down upcoming match-ups and comment on teams and topics from around the league.

"I am excited to team up with Sirius NFL Radio and I hope to add a unique perspective to the broadcast," Bush said in a statement. "I have always enjoyed Sirius coverage of the NFL as a listener and it will be an honor to work with a company that shares my passion for the game."

The reports will air at 5:15pm EST every Wednesday as part of The Afternoon Blitz, the talk show hosted by Adam Schein, Solomon Wilcots and Jim Miller.

Baron Davis Puts on Producer Hat

Who knew that when Golden State Warriors Baron Davis would jump into Hollywood it would grab the attention of an A-list actor? Davis has signed on as executive producer of the upcoming HBO flick, “ABCD Camp,” the story of Sonny Vaccaro, the longtime sports guru who helped Jordan sign his multi-million deal at Nike. Vaccaro will be played by none other than James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano).

"Sonny's a pioneer," Davis told ESPN’s Sam Alipour. "He revolutionized the game and empowered players and their families, educating them about sports and business. As popular as he is, Sonny has always had people who fought against him. He has been an underdog in trying to do something positive for student-athletes. He's a controversial figure in the sports world, but I think the film will depict who he really is and what his true intentions are in the basketball world.”

But this isn’t the only project Davis is producing under his Verso Entertainment umbrella. According to ESPN, he’s also in postproduction on "Belly 2," the sequel to director Hype Williams' film debut that starred Nas and DMX and now will star rapper The Game. Davis is also producing a documentary from director (and skater) Stacey Peralta ("Dogtown and Z-Boys") about the Bloods and the Crips.

Laveranues Coles Shares Abusive Childhood With Oprah

New York Jet Laveranues Coles appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show last week and shared the experience of his sexual abuse at the hands of his stepfather. At the age of 10, Coles’ mother married the man that would sexually abuse him for the next three years.

"My mom took a night job," Coles told Oprah. "From there, that's when he started creeping into my room. He would tell me that if I ever told my mom, he would kill her and then kill me. My soul was damaged. I felt like I was trapped."

Coles also confessed that at times his stepfather would hold a gun to his head while he abused him. It wasn’t until 8th grade, after Coles got into a fight with a fellow student over a gay rumor his stepfather started, that the authorities noticed something different Coles and was holding something back. He confessed to police what was going on and his stepfather was arrested, convicted and sentenced to nine years in prison in 1992 after pleading guilty to the charges. He only served three and a half years. To see the clips from the show as well as commentary from Coles’ mother and psychologist Dr. Robin Smith, check out Oprah.com.

Tiger Woods Designing U.S. Golf Course

Last year Tiger Woods announced that he was going to design a golf course in Dubai, now he’s looking to design one on American soil. He announced that he will design a course in the mountains of North Carolina near Ashville. His course will be in a neighborhood of other courses called The Cliffs at High Carolina. And Tiger said he’ll be around for the entire building of it.

"As you all know, I'm kind of a perfectionist," Woods told the Associated Press. Woods also said that he will let the scenic land dictate the layout and hopes the course gives golfers a fair test and a chance to connect with nature.
