With only $100 and a dream, Lisa Price has conquered her life's challenges to create a multi-million-dollar company from the kitchen of her Brooklyn home. Carol's Daughter, named for her late mother, officially opened in May 1993. Starting with a handful of customers, it grew by word of mouth, through mail-order, Web site and walk-in traffic. In 1999, Price moved the store from her house to Brooklyn's upscale Fort Green neighborhood.
Scent-sational Appeal
Price's wonderful scents captured the noses of everyone, including celebrities such as Jada Pinkett-Smith, Erykah Badu, Halle Berry, David Sanborn, Chaka Khan, Gary Dourdan, Rosie Perez, Maya Angelou and Oprah Winfrey.
